Projects!

So now that Valentines Day is over, I can finally post on here and show my special projects I've been working on!

First, me and my mom went to CityCraft where I got this awesome fabric. Hope Valley by Denyse Schmidt and Timber by Jessica Levitt. I freaking LOVE these fabrics!

So I took these fabrics and made this block, which I had posted on my facebook at the beginning of the month. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, but I ended up turning it into a pillow for myself.

While we were at the fabric store, we saw a pillow they had made with the same fabric. My mom and I both really liked it, and so I decided to make one for my momma for Valentines! This is her pillow. Unfortunately I forgot to take a pic of it all put together, but this is the front, and I did the back in the pink flower patter (the one in the center of the heart).

She loved it! And so do I! I think I will have to make another one for myself! :-)

The next project I undertook was for my friend Angela. She had been feeling down lately and I really wanted to do something special to cheer her up. So I put together a little care package and included this pillow, which I made specially just for her! I hope she loves it!

Angela's pillow!!!

Back of Angela's pillow :-) Love this fabric!

Then the next weekend, my friend Lauren came over and we had a whole afternoon of sewing! We went to CityCraft (again) and we picked out some awesome Michael Miller fabric, which we promptly sewed into an awesome tote bag for her! It was so fun and she did so well!!!

Lauren's Michael Miller fabric. Pretty!

THE pin......long but funny story :-)

Sew Crazy

Sew.....lately I've had the sewing bug. My friend Angela came to visit one weekend and we had a craft/sewing afternoon together. It was awesome. Since then I can't seem to get enough sewing! It's totally weird (for me)!!! Just thought I'd post some of my projects I've done so far. Mind you, they are by no means perfect; I'm still in the learning stages.

This was our first project; we made thumb tacks from buttons :-)

Angela made me a Cowboys pillow; so I made Luis an A&M fleece pillow

I made these coasters for my Momma for Mother's Day

My premature attempt at a Drunkard's Block....curved lines are HARD!

This was supposed to be an Hourglass block but I messed up on the purple squares :(

Finally, this is a simple tissue holder I made in about 5 minutes from this tutorial.

I ordered some really awesome fabric from this place; they have a ton of really cool fabric for a decent price. Hopefully by the time it comes in I'll be able to sew straight and make my edges match :-)
