Soulmates

So. A friend of mine recently enlightened me to the concept of multiple soulmates. I always just assumed I had one soulmate; one guy who I would spend the rest of my life with; one guy who would "complete" me. Don't get me wrong, I totally believe I have met that guy (you know who you are, Lou!) ;) But I also realized that I have other soulmates! People in my life who truly contribute to my happiness and who I know will always be there.

Its amazing because I had friends from school who I thought would always be there, you know? We were BFFs all the way. We did everything together and shared everything and I just assumed these were "my" people. But alas. Throughout life I have found and lost these people; they aren't here anymore. Or, if they are, they're here in small doses; an occasional "Hey, how goes it?" I realize now that these people were in my life for a reason or a season; they had some impact on me, but they aren't lasting impacts. For some, if I never see them again I don't think my life will drastically change. I would be happy for having met them and shared experiences, but that's as far as it goes.

But with some people its different. Some people just feel like a part of you; like if they ever left you'd never be the same. Some of them I've know for what seems like forever; others I've just found recently. But the one thing that sets them apart is that they have a significant lasting impact on me and my happiness. If I didn't have these people, I'm sure I would feel something was missing. We may not have the same goals and dreams or ideals, but something at the core connects us.
These people are my soulmates!

As unprofound this idea might be to alot of people, I have to say that it sort of blew me away when I really thought about it! So to make things simpler and take the drama out of it, I just want to say that I LOVE my soulmates!

YOU COMPLETE ME! :-)
